The mission of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is “a network of friends, inspired by Gospel values, growing in holiness and building a more just world through personal relationships with and service to people in need.”

Members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (known as “Vincentians”) are men and women who strive to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to neighbors in need. Our members represent all ages, every race, and all incomes, and all are gifted with awareness that the blessings of time, talent, and treasure are to be shared with neighbors in need.

The St. Mary’s St. Vincent de Paul Pantry is located at 210 Fifth Street Aurora, Indiana.  The organization meets monthly and serves the needs of those in Dearborn, Ohio, Ripley and Switzerland Counties every Thursday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  We offer food and clothing from the pantry as well as financial assistance for housing, electric and utilities.  Funding comes from a variety of sources:

Christmas Giving Tree - Annually we host the Christmas Giving Tree where families of Dearborn County Parishes donate toys and money for those in need.

Thanksgiving Food Drive - We also host the Thanksgiving food bag drive which provides all grocery items to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner for their family.

Donations - We rely on weekly donations from parishioners as well as other local churches and organizations.

Grants - We have received DCCF grants to help with the purchase of food.

If you would like to volunteer and help our local SVdP pantry, please reach out to a current member or call (812) 926-1637.

To quote our patron, St. Vincent de Paul: “Charity is infinitely inventive.”
